Mountain terrace dining with fresh dishes at Chiora Inn restaurant

Restaurant

Our table: traditional Rachan cooking, made fresh each day

The short version

Chiora Inn has a small family restaurant serving traditional Rachan and Georgian dishes made fresh each day — Chiora ham, lobiani, khachapuri, pkhali, and more, much of it grown or made nearby. Breakfast is 20 GEL per person; lunch and dinner are à la carte. Dining is for overnight guests, and we serve Khvanchkara, Racha's famous wine, on draft.

Racha has its own kitchen — distinct even within Georgia. We cook it the way it's cooked here: slowly, seasonally, with local produce and our own preserves. Most of what reaches your plate was grown, raised, or made nearby.

Dishes to look for

Chiora ham

Racha's famous cured ham, air-dried in the mountain climate — the dish the region is known for across Georgia.

Lobiani

Warm bean-filled bread, a Rachan staple. We also serve it with Chiora ham.

Khachapuri

Georgia's beloved cheese bread, baked fresh with our local Chiora cheese.

Pkhali board

Beetroot, spinach, and eggplant pkhali with cornbread (mchadi) — a colourful spread of vegetable pâtés.

Chicken shkmeruli

Chicken in a garlicky milk sauce, served with bread and sour cream.

Mtsvadi

Georgian barbecue over open coals — pork or veal, smoky and simple.

Alongside these you'll find seasonal salads, homemade bread, local cheeses, preserves, and a daily soup and dessert. You can see the full menu here.

Khvanchkara, from Racha

Racha is the home of Khvanchkara, Georgia's celebrated semi-sweet red. We serve it at our table on draft. Read more in our Khvanchkara wine guide.

How dining works

Breakfast is 20 GELper person — any breakfast dish plus tea or coffee, served 09:00–11:00. Lunch (13:00–15:00) and dinner (18:00–20:30) are à la carte; a dinner for two usually runs around 40–80 GEL depending on what you order. Dining is for overnight guests. There are several vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu, so there's plenty to choose from.
